How it Works

Our Process

All families must apply for a scholarship via CSFP’s random lottery. If you win the lottery, you will be asked to provide supplemental documents that confirm your income, address, and school enrollment. CSFP’s team is here to help you through the entire process!

Important Information

CSFP prioritizes K-8th grade scholarship opportunities to encourage students to foster their cognitive abilities, build social behavior, and develop life-long skills needed to succeed.
CSFP scholarships are awarded via random lottery.
Families can apply from mid-September through March 1. Applying before November 15 gives families the best chance to be selected for a scholarship.

There are 2,000 new scholarships available for the 2025-2026 school year.

Students who win the lottery will receive a scholarship until they move onto high school, as long as eligibility requirements are met.

Scholarship awards range from $1,250 – $3,350.

CSFP partners with more than 150 schools in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Eligibility Requirements

CSFP’s eligibility requirements are simple! Families must live in Philadelphia, have a child entering K-8th grade, and meet the income guidelines listed here.

Please note, all families are required to submit proof of at least $8,000 in annual cash income that is not SNAP and TANF. This requirement is in place to ensure that families are able to pay their portion of the school tuition and other fees.

Assess Your Award

Scholarship Estimation Calculator

Use this helpful calculator tool to estimate your family’s potential scholarship amount.

All CSFP scholarships are based on need and cover only part of the tuition. Each family is expected to contribute at least $500 per year towards tuition. We calculate each child’s scholarship by considering household size and income. For the 2024-2025 school year, the maximum scholarship is $3,350 per child.

Remember, this tool provides an estimate and is not a guarantee of an award of any amount.

Because of you, my kids could attend the school they would like and you give us an opportunity to choose the school we would like. We can not express our happiness and thanks enough with words.
