CSFP and Philadelphia Insurance Companies honored graduating 8th graders at Xfinity Live ahead of Friday’s Phillies game

PHILADELPHIA – On Friday, April 21, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) welcomed 8th grade students and their families to Xfinity Live! and Citizens Bank Park to celebrate their 8th grade graduation. This event marked the completion of CSFP 8th grade students’ time attending more than 160, K-8th grade private and parochial schools with the support of a CSFP scholarship.

More than 250 students were in attendance at the event. CSFP, with the generous support of Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), covered the cost of two tickets per family, with discounted tickets available for families wishing to bring additional guests. All tickets included admission and dinner at Xfinity Live! as well as admission and a concession voucher for inside the stadium during the Phillies game. Four attendees were given VIP tickets to sit behind home plate and receive a special tour.

Additionally, as part of a special partnership with the Phillies, CSFP’s President and CEO Keisha Jordan, threw out the first pitch of the game and shared information about the organization during 60 second video shown on the Phillies’ new PhanaVision scoreboard.

“8th grade graduation marks the official beginning of the next phase of the educational journey for CSFP’s students and families. We know how foundational a K-8th grade education is for many students entering high school in Philadelphia, so CSFP is honored to celebrate students and their achievements through this milestone,” said Keisha Jordan, CSFP President and CEO. “We hope that by continuing to provide opportunities for families to network, take part in Philadelphia’s many offerings, and recognize families’ commitment to education through scholarship, we can make a difference for more students. We are grateful to our partners at Philadelphia Insurance Companies, Xfinity Live! and the Phillies for making this event possible!”

“Education is crucial for all in the Philadelphia community. We are deeply committed to Philadelphia students and their success, and always welcome opportunities to celebrate their achievements. In addition to our sponsorship of this event, I am proud to share that PHLY has made a significant commitment to CSFP’s Breaking Barriers campaign this year, pledging $1.28M in support of scholarships for 2023,” said John Glomb, President and CEO of Philadelphia Insurance Companies.
