CSFP Focuses on Outreach and Access with Two Fall Events

Aug 24, 2018

Throughout the fall, CSFP will spend time in communities throughout the city providing resources and support to help families make the best decision about their children’s K-8th grade education. We will host two important events:

Citywide Application Launch

September 22nd, 11AM-2PM

CSFP will host a citywide event to celebrate the opening of our random lottery* for School Year 2019-2020 scholarships. Staff and volunteers will hand out information and provide opportunities for families to apply for a partial scholarship at six different recreation centers across the city:

Olney Recreation Center (Flagship): 6001 A Street
Holmesburg Recreation Center: 4500 Rhawn Street
Kendrick Recreation Center: 5822 Ridge Avenue
Kingsessing Recreation Center: 4901 Kingsessing Avenue
Cobbs Creek Recreation Center: 280 Cobbs Creek Parkway
Murphy Recreation Center: 300 West Shunk Street

*All CSFP scholarships are partial and need-based. Applications are free and available here after the 22nd.

Philly K-8 School Fair

Saturday, October 27, 10AM-1PM
Girard College: 2101 South College Avenue

CSFP will team up with GreatPhillySchools (GPS) to host a free, open-to-the-public, K-8th grade school fair. At the fair, families can meet with admissions representatives from over 100 diverse public district, public charter, and private schools, learn about admission processes, and find a great fit for their children.

CSFP designed the Citywide Application Launch and the Philly K-8 School Fair to provide Philadelphia families with information and education about the many options for their children’s primary grade education. We believe that #EveryPhillyKid should have access to a great education at a school that best meets their individual needs.

Do you believe that #EveryPhillyKid should succeed at a great school? Word of mouth is the most common way that families learn about CSFP scholarships! Please help spread the word about these two events, and share this article with a family who might be interested in our need-based scholarships or in attending the school fair.
