CSFP Earns Top Marks from Renowned Nonprofit Evaluator

Apr 9, 2018

In April 2018, CSFP received a perfect 100 score from the nation’s leading charity watchdog, Charity Navigator. Just one of two education-based charities to make this list in April, we are incredibly proud of this honor, which recognizes our sustained commitment to fiscal responsibility, good governance, and best practices. Charity Navigator rates thousands of charities each year, and CSFP’s perfect score sets us in the top one percent.

We are also delighted to share that CSFP has been awarded Charity Navigator’s highest rating of four stars, which further underscores our responsible management and fiscal strength. In the words of Charity Navigator’s CEO, Michael Thatcher, “Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work … This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness.” Only four other education-based charities in Pennsylvania currently hold the 4-star rating.

Together, these honors highlight CSFP’s ability to efficiently and effectively manage our scholarship program, which enables us to impact educational access for over 5,000 Philadelphia children each year. CSFP is a small, privately-funded organization with 10 full-time staff members supporting 5,200 children at 170 private schools.

We are thankful to our community of friends and supporters who have helped grow CSFP into the impactful organization that we are today. Read our Charity Navigator profile.
