Gift Development Manager

Status: Full-time, exempt

Position Overview

The Gift Development Manager (GDM) will be a frontline fundraiser for the organization, working with current and potential donors to make impactful gifts to the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the GDM is a member of CSFP’s Advancement team. The incumbent is charged with developing and implementing strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward potential donors with major gift capacity through traditional philanthropic giving and Pennsylvania tax credit giving (more information can be found here: https://www.csfphiladelphia.org/tax-credits/). A top candidate for this role will possess the following skills: prospecting, account management, organization, writing, presentation, relationship-building, as well as someone who is comfortable networking and finding the connectors interested in CSFP’s mission. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage a donor/prospect portfolio of approximately 100 individuals and/or corporations for cultivation and solicitation of gifts. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor interactions and account updates in the database to ensure data integrity and support effective cultivation strategies. 
  • Develop and implement prospect-specific strategies for cultivating and soliciting major gift prospects to meet funding priorities. 
  • Regularly qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospective donors (with an emphasis on major gifts) through in-person visits, virtual visits, and other personal touchpoints.  
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CSFP and its vision, mission, and campaign to effectively articulate the organization’s priorities and fundraising objectives to donors. 
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager to identify, research, and draft briefing profiles for current and prospective donors.  
  • Plan and execute fundraising events as assigned, attend CSFP-sponsored and community networking events as appropriate. 
  • Drive measurable results by meeting specific activity benchmarks and annual financial fundraising goals established by CSFP leadership. Maintain accountability through regular progress updates and data-driven reporting. Support the campaign leadership team and committee with major donor strategies. 

Qualifications

While no one candidate will possess every quality outlined for this position, a successful candidate will bring many of the following professional qualifications and personal attributes: 

  • Undergraduate degree required 
  • Three-plus years of experience, preferably in advanced non-profit fundraising, sales, or other client-facing work 
  • Organized with strong time management skills to accomplish goals and deadlines 
  • Perseverance and follow through 
  • Advanced skills utilizing various software and web-based tools (i.e.: Microsoft Office, CRMs, wealth screening tools, Canva, etc.)  
  • Experience working with diverse constituencies 
  • Ability to thrive in collaborative, hybrid professional environment 
  • Creative, self-motivated, proactive, and confident 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience with proposal writing.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Certain abilities to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions are required, such as: 

  • Must be able to travel to within the five-county region —valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation, when necessary, is required; 
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer; 
  • Must be able to maneuver in an office space, including reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, copying, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; 
  • Must be able to assist with events, which includes lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing, standing; 
  • CSFP currently operates in a virtual hybrid environment, with two days required in the office.   

Access to the internet when working from home is required. 

Benefits & Compensation

CSFP offers competitive compensation packages that are commensurate with an individual’s experience and education.  This is a full-time exempt position, generally 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may include evening and weekend work.  CSFP’s competitive compensation and benefits package includes:

Salary Range: $80,000 per year, commesurate with experience
