Ramone


Meet Ramone, a second-grader from Holy Cross Catholic School Of Mount Airy. When Ramone is not practicing his athletic skills, he’s focusing on Math, Science, and Reading. Ramone dreams of becoming a police officer and names his father as his role model.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: I like to play basketball, football, read, and play on my Xbox 360.

Q: What is your favorite thing about your school?
A: Math, Science, and Library time.

Q: What is your favorite subject at school?
A: Math.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher and why?
A: Mr. Edmunds! I like him because he is nice, and lets me help my friends with work.

Q: Who is your role model and why do you look up to them?
A: My role model is my dad, he is my coach my teacher and my friend. I look up to my dad because he coaches and teaches other kids, and he works really hard.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: Police officer

Q: What is your favorite activity in the summer? What do you want to do this summer?
A: Go to the beach and go swimming.

Q: What are your hopes for your child(ren)?
A: I hope my son goes to college, plays at least one sport, is a part of at least one sport through college, and becomes an architect.

Q: Why do you think it is important for your child(ren) to attend a tuition-based school in Philadelphia? Are there any improvements you have seen since choosing a tuition-based school?
A: I think my child’s education is better qualified and advanced by attending a tuition-based school, which keeps them on a higher level of education. I have seen several improvements within my child: how he conducts himself, his mindset, maturity, and communication skills have improved.

Q: How does your CSFP scholarship affect your family?
A: The CSFP Scholarship really helps my family from a financial aspect because it allows my child to experience a greater education, by allowing the parent to afford it more substantially.

Q: How did you feel when you were notified that you won the CSFP lottery? What was your reaction?
A: I felt ecstatic, so happy, when I received the acceptance letter. I called everybody as if he received a scholarship to college. I really appreciate this program and all it offers families.

Q: What would you tell others about CSFP?
A: I would tell others that this program is wonderful and helpful, also includes some great incentives such as the discount rate to attend the Natural Science Museum.
