Q: What are your hopes for your CSFP child(ren)?
A: My hopes for my CSFP children are to receive a higher quality of education within a structured environment, being taught by qualified and nurturing teachers to assist in the process demonstrating the importance of receiving a high level of education, and keeping the motivation to explore every educational opportunity granted to them.

Since my children have a passion for math and science, over the summer the boys had the opportunity to attend a free program called Seek (Summer Engineering Experience for Kids). I hope my children will have the opportunity to attend and complete college by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Engineering, in addition to receiving a Master’s and PHD in Science and Engineering in the near future.

Q: Why do you think it is important for your child(ren) to attend a tuition-based school in Philadelphia?
A: As a single, working mother, I am trying to prepare my sons for the future by providing them with the best educational opportunity which is a faith-based education offered at St. Pius X School. Having a safe, structured, faith based, educational environment is essential for my boys to excel. Due to the ongoing violence, lack of security which impacts safety in the school community, limited educational resources, limited teaching staff, over-sized and unstructured classrooms, unqualified and no-trained staff members, lack of motivation and dedication given to students in the learning environment, and the need to recruit more qualified teachers, a public school would not offer the opportunity for my boys to advance with their education.

Although the cost is very expensive, I would like for my children to have the opportunity to learn in a safe, educational, faith-based school environment. Since attending pre-school the boys were able to excel academically by meeting all of the academic standards required by St. Pius X, attend school on a regular basis, and enjoy the benefits of attending a faith-based school. With your continuous financial assistance, my children will have the opportunity to continue receiving an excellent quality of education in a safe environment.

Q: How does your CSFP scholarship affect your family?
A: Without receiving funding from CSFP, I would not be able to afford to pay for the elevating cost of tuition for my children which is very challenging for many families as well as for any single mother including myself. By having affordable rates, I will be able to make payments based upon my income and still be able to meet the basis needs to provide for my children.

Q: What would you tell others about CSFP?
A: CSFP is a very dedicated program that gives families the opportunity to afford a quality education for their children. I am very appreciative and blessed to have the opportunity have been granted funding for my children. I would encourage parents to view CSFP’s website and to view any and all advertisements posted by your program
