CSFP staff and families celebrated the graduating class completing the program and entering high school with a Philly-filled day
PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Sunday, May 18th, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) celebrated its graduating 8th grade students with a special CSFP Day at the Ballpark as the Philadelphia Phillies took on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Five hundred CSFP students and family members attended the event, which included lunch and a pre-game reception at Xfinity Live!, as well as the honor of having 8th-grade scholarship graduate, Kahlil, throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The event was sponsored by Fulton Bank and Stradley Ronon.
CSFP Day at the Ballpark represents an opportunity for the organization to recognize the hard work and commitment of Philadelphia families pursuing quality education options for their children. CSFP provides need-based scholarships to children from under-resourced Philadelphia families, enabling them to attend tuition-based schools of their choice throughout the city. CSFP has provided significant and formative educational support for its scholarship recipients, with graduates attending schools like Archbishop Ryan High School, Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Roman Catholic High School, Father Judge High School, St. Hubert’s, Ss. John Neumann and Maria Goretti High School, Cristo Rey PHL, West Catholic Preparatory High School, and many others each year.
“Education is the foundation upon which our children build their futures, and at CSFP, we’re committed to making quality educational options accessible to Philadelphia families regardless of their financial circumstances or zip code,” said Keisha Jordan, President & CEO of Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia. “We’re proud to support these dedicated students on their educational journeys, and it’s an honor to watch them grow and head to high school. Today’s celebration is about recognizing their persistence and achievements.”
“Fulton recognizes the value of Philadelphia students having access to cultural experiences throughout their city, and we are proud to help provide them. These experiences help create well rounded students who will become future responsible citizens in the community. We are proud to partner with CSFP to further educational options and celebrate students as they conclude their foundational education,” said Joe Tredinnick, Market President, Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey Region, Fulton Bank.
The event highlighted the life-changing impact of CSFP scholarships, which have been awarded to more than 90,000 children since the organization’s founding in 2001. With attending families from Olney and Mayfair to Point Breeze, CSFP demonstrates that opportunities shouldn’t be tied to zip code or socio-economic status. For many families, these scholarships make the critical difference in accessing educational environments that best suit their children’s needs.
The day was filled with excitement as families cheered on their favorite team while celebrating the achievements of CSFP scholars. Attendees enjoyed food at Xfinity Live! and received concession credits as part of their complimentary tickets, making it a day to remember for all involved.
CSFP Day at the Ballpark is one of several community events the organization hosts throughout the year to foster connection among scholarship families and celebrate educational achievement.
