Superskate Sunday Brings CSFP Families to Dilworth Park

Feb 10, 2017

CSFP children eager to skate and parents eager to get some quality family time with their children joined us on February 5 for our second annual Superskate Sunday event. Over 200 families came out to ice skate and spend time together. As CSFP staff taught skating lessons to children who had never been on the ice, other children made Valentines for their parents, or enjoyed the hot chocolate bar generously provided by Center City District, who runs the skating rink. The event gives CSFP parents an opportunity to take their children out for a fun, winter event at a very reduced cost.

We know that parents of young children can struggle with finding meaningful, fun, and low-cost family activities. That’s why we host several supplemental programs and outings for our scholarship families. From trips to the Academy of Natural Sciences (coming up next month!), to the chance to win tickets to the Pennsylvania Ballet, we try to bring access to outside-the-classroom learning for our families, in addition to scholarship support. Read more about supplemental programs.

Thank you to the Center City District for their partnership on this event, and to all the families who came out to have fun! You can find photos on CSFP’s Facebook page.
