KWY Radio features Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia and informs families regarding the current scholarship application process

Jan 22, 2013

Earlier this week, CSFP Executive Director Ina Lipman discussed CSFP scholarships, school tuition, and the CSFP scholarship lottery with KYW News reporter Cherri Gregg. Ina described CSFP’s scholarship program, which currently provides 3,500 children with tuition support to attend safe, quality K-8th grade schools in the area. She let area families know that CSFP scholarships are need-based and issued by random lottery.  The radio program highlighted the fact that with an average tuition cost for area private schools of $4,000 per child, per year, CSFP awards provide much-needed financial access for thousands of low-income Philadelphia families seeking better educational options for their children.

As part of our Campaign for 10,000 Children, CSFP will issue an additional 2,000 awards this spring.

CSFP Scholarship applications for the 2013-2014 school year are due March 1st.
