CSFP Hosts New Parent Workshop, Paperwork Clinics and School Fair

Apr 8, 2013

More than 150 new families joined CSFP staff and volunteers on April 6th for our annual new parent workshop, paperwork clinic and school fair. CSFP Executive Director Ina Lipman addressed the crowd, highlighting that spring is a joyful time for the organization. “This is my favorite time of year,” Lipman stated, “because we get to meet so many families who are new to CSFP and welcome them to our program.”

The paperwork clinic paired families selected from CSFP’s random award lottery with trained volunteers and staff to complete the required scholarships forms. Later, families had the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 35 area K-8th grade schools during the school fair.

Applications for CSFP scholarships, which are distributed by random lottery to low-income Philadelphia families every March, closed on March 1st, 2013. For more information about CSFP, click here.

New award recipients may still attend one of the upcoming paperwork clinics in early April. Call 215-670-8411 for more information.

CSFP would like to thank West Catholic High School for hosting the event, as well as participating schools, Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO), and our SEI volunteers, who helped make this event a success!
