A main component of our early access initiative, CSFP implemented a Priority Deadline for new scholarship applications. We developed this new timeline to encourage new families to start considering school options for the next year, much earlier and at a time when schools hold open houses. Early results are positive: so far, CSFP has received thirty percent more applications than in years’ past. Our fall School Fair had robust attendance from Philadelphia families looking into school options. For the nitty-gritty on deadlines this year, keep reading.
Priority Deadline
All families who applied early (between September 15 and November 15) will be automatically included in a priority, random, need-based lottery. CSFP will select about 1600 out of 2,000 new scholarship awards from this early pool of applicants on December 8th.
All families selected from our priority lottery will be notified by mid-December. CSFP will host its annual Lottery Day event for supporters and volunteers to make the calls that tell new lottery winners they were selected.
Final Deadline
Applications to CSFP’s random, need-based scholarship lottery will remain open until March 1. Anyone who applied in September 15 – March 1 and were not selected in the earlier December drawing will be automatically rolled over into the pool of applicants for our final deadline. The final lottery will be held in early March.
