2013 High School Workshop

Oct 21, 2013

On Saturday, October 19th, 2013, CSFP hosted our  fourth annual High School Workshop at West Catholic High School. Speakers from magnet, district, charter, faith-based, and independent schools covered issues of high school readiness, application and testing requirements, parental obligations and responsibilities and financial assistance. In a separate workshop, students heard directly from admissions directors and a former alumnae and employee of A Better Chance about admissions and scholarship test taking tips, essential interviewing skills, high school performance expectations, and a timeline for completing all admissions paperwork. Parents and students also had a chance to meet with representatives from area public, private, and parochial high schools to learn about these schools and discuss specific application procedures.

Families in attendance reported that the event provided important information to help them prepare for their children’s transition to high school. We were thrilled with the great turnout—thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this a successful event!  A special thank you to West Catholic High School for use of their facility.

If you were unable to attend, please refer to our High School Workshop packet for information discussed at the event.
