CSFP Hosts 14th Annual Student Award Ceremony

Jul 8, 2014

On June 16th, CSFP welcomed more than 1,800 families, supporters and honorees as we awarded 2,000 new four-year K-8th grade scholarships to Philadelphia children. These students will join 3,400 CSFP students this fall – representing the largest class ever in our 14 year history!

It was a great celebration as we near the mid-point in our Campaign for 10,000 Children. Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. Hite introduced our Citizen of the Year, Pedro Ramos. Rob Wonderling, President and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) was present to accept the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award. With our friend, The Phillie Phanatic, on hand to congratulate the crowd, the Student Award Ceremony buzzed with excitement.

We thank the American Federation for Children, the Kimmel Center and Beneficial Bank for sponsoring this event. Our ability to issue 2,000 new awards is due to the continued financial leadership of our friends at PNC, Wawa, TD Bank, ACE Group, SKF, PECO and Radian, as well as the Maguire Foundation, the Lenfest Foundation, the Hamilton Family Foundation, Children’s Scholarship Fund (national) and Connelly Foundation. Thank you for your belief in what is possible for all children to succeed!
